Sitabani is on the outskirts of the Corbett Tiger Reserve. Here tourists can enter for jungle jeep safari. 50 jeep safaris are allowed here per day. 6 adults and 2 children are allowed in a jeep. Situated at a distance of 25 km from Ramnagar, at the foothills of the mighty Himalayas in Uttarakhand, the Sitabani buffer zone of the Corbett National Park is a very popular tourist destination. This is the only forest in Corbett where tourists can take wild treks inside the forest. It is known for its beauty along with the temple of Goddess Sita and for hosting the Mahashivaratri fair celebrated all over Uttarakhand. The area is a popular site for tourists to visit and is popular because it is mentioned in the Hindu epic Ramayana. According to legend, Goddess Sita, the wife of Lord Rama, spent some time of her exile in Sitabani.
Most of the tourists entering the Sitabani Jeep Safari Zone are fond of bird watching. Bird watching is his hobby and the best part is that there are many to be seen throughout the season. There are over 600 species of trees here, as well as shrubs, bamboos, herbs, grasses, orchids and woody climbers. Sal, Sheesham, Kanju, Dhak, Haldu, Peepal, Mango and Rohini trees are the most important evergreen species in this region. Apart from all this, Sitabani is also the natural habitat of tigers, elephants, deer, sambar, barking deer, porcupine and king cobra. The place is a paradise for bird watchers and also has an ashram where tourists can take rest. Managed by the Archaeological Survey of India, Sitabani is a famous area for bird watching and an ashram is located inside the forest. There are around 35 Royal Bengal Tigers in this sanctuary. The park is also popular for many vibrantly colored bird species.

Temple of Goddess Sita:

Sitabani Temple is located inside the Sitabani Sanctuary and is dedicated to Goddess Sita. According to legend, Sita, the wife of Lord Rama, spent a few days of her exile at Sitabani. An ancient temple dedicated to sage Valmiki is also located in the reserve. A large number of devotees visit the Sitabani temple on the day of Ram Navami. Nearby is a famous temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Sitabani is open throughout the year for safari tours and there is no restriction on the entry of vehicles into the area. When tourists do not get permits in Corbett Tiger Reserve, they choose to travel to Sitabani. Most of the tourists coming to Sitabani area are fond of watching birds. Sitabani Forest Department issues the permit for this safari.

Safari Timings in Sitabani Zone: 5.30 am to 8.30 am and 3 pm to 6 pm

About Sitabani zone in Hindi: Seetaabanee korbet taigar rijarv ke baaharee ilaake mein hai. yahaan paryatak jangal jeep saphaaree ke lie pravesh kar sakate hain. prati din yahaan 50 jeep saphaaree kee anumati hai. ek jeep mein 6 vayaskon aur 2 bachchon kee anumati hai. uttaraakhand mein shaktishaalee himaalay kee talahatee mein raamanagar se 25 kimee kee dooree par sthit, korbet neshanal paark ka seetaabanee baphar jon ek bahut hee lokapriy paryatan sthal hai. korbet mein yah ekamaatr jangal hai jahaan paryatak jangal ke andar jangalee trek le sakate hain. yah devee seeta ke mandir ke saath-saath apanee sundarata ke lie aur poore uttaraakhand mein manae jaane vaale mahaashivaraatri mele kee mejabaanee ke lie jaana jaata hai. yah kshetr paryatakon kee yaatra ke lie ek lokapriy sthal hai aur lokapriy hai kyonki isaka ullekh hindoo mahaakaavy raamaayan mein milata hai. pauraanik katha ke anusaar, bhagavaan raam kee patnee devee seeta ne apane vanavaas ka kuchh samay seetaabanee mein bitaaya tha.
Seetaabanee jeep saphaaree jon mein aane vaale jyaadaatar paryatak bard vaaching ke shaukeen hote hain. bard vaaching unaka shauk hai aur sabase achchhee baat yah hai ki poore seejan mein kaee pakshee dekhe ja sakate hain. yahaan pedon kee 600 se adhik prajaatiyaan hain, saath hee jhaadiyaan, baans, jadee-bootiyaan, ghaas, orkid aur vudee parvataarohee hain. is kshetr mein saal, sheesham, kanjoo, dhaak, haldoo, peepal, aam aur rohinee ke ped sabase mahatvapoorn sadaabahaar prajaatiyaan hain. in sabake alaava, seetaabanee baagh, haathee, hiran, saambhar, bhaunkane vaale hiran, saahee aur king kobara ka praakrtik aavaas bhee hai. yah sthaan pakshee dekhane vaalon ke lie svarg hai aur yahaan ek aashram bhee hai jahaan paryatak aaraam kar sakate hain. bhaarateey puraatatv sarvekshan dvaara prabandhit, seetaabanee pakshee dekhane ke lie ek prasiddh kshetr hai aur ek aashram jangal ke andar sthit hai. is abhayaarany mein lagabhag 35 royal bangaal taigar hain. paark kaee chamakeele rang kee pakshee prajaatiyon ke lie bhee lokapriy hai.

Devee Seeta ka Mandir: Seetaabanee mandir seetaabanee abhayaarany ke andar sthit hai aur devee seeta ko samarpit hai. pauraanik katha ke anusaar, bhagavaan raam kee patnee seeta ne apane vanavaas ke kuchh din seetaabanee mein bitae the. rijarv mein rshi vaalmeeki ko samarpit ek praacheen mandir bhee sthit hai. raamanavamee ke din badee sankhya mein shraddhaalu seetaabanee mandir mein darshan ke lie aate hain. paas hee bhagavaan shiv ko samarpit ek prasiddh mandir hai. saphaaree paryatan ke lie seetaabanee saal bhar khula rahata hai aur kshetr mein vaahanon ke pravesh par koee pratibandh nahin hai. jab paryatakon ko korbet taigar rijarv mein paramit nahin milata hai, to ve seetaabanee kee yaatra karana chunate hain. seetaabanee kshetr mein aane vaale adhikaansh paryatak pakshiyon ko dekhane ke shaukeen hote hain. seetaabanee van vibhaag is saphaaree ke lie paramit jaaree karata hai.
