Jhirna Zone is a major zone of Jim Corbett National Park which is open throughout the year. This zone is located at a distance of 15 kilometers from Ramnagar city. Jhirna area was added after 1994. To expand the tiger reserve area, the agricultural land of Jhirna village and two other villages were included in the reserve area and the villages were included. Transferred to some other nearby place. Seeing the increasing number of visitors to Corbett, this zone was established by Corbett Tourism and the Government of Uttarakhand. The entrance of this zone is Dhela Gate, from where entry is made for safari inside the zone. Jhirna Zone is situated on the southern edge of the Corbett Reserve Park. The topography of Jhirna Zone is mainly dry deciduous type, it has a large grassland (Chaur) known as Laldhang Chaur, apart from this the zone is known for bird watching. Considered to be an excellent location. If you are planning to visit Jhirna zone then you need to obtain a safari permit from the forest officials and also hire a safari vehicle and a naturist/guide. Jhirna offers night stay facilities for wildlife enthusiasts in its forest rest house located inside the zone.

Corbett Waterfalls

Eloped in the dense teak wood forest, Corbett Waterfalls dropping down from a height of 60 feet offer a refreshing break from tiring safari session. The area around the waterfall is just the perfect to enjoy a picnic. While visiting the waterfall, make a point to carry sufficient drink and food stock as there are no eating joints nearby. One can also enjoy birdwatching here. Tourists can take buses or taxis from Kaladhungi (4 kilometers) and Ramnagar (27 kilometers). To reach the main waterfall, trek for approximately 1.5 kilometers from the parking area. Holiday in Corbett National Park should be avoided during the monsoon season as the region is prone to landslides and soil erosion. But tourists can visit the Corbett Falls throughout the year.
