Durga Devi Anchal is situated at a distance of about 28 kms from Ramnagar. The area has an undulating terrain which provides an excellent opportunity for tiger sightings. Also, you can find wild elephants in this area of the park throughout the year. Durga Devi is a picturesque area and it is an untouched area, you can visit it through jeep. Durga Devi Gate is the main gateway to enter the zone which is 28 kms from Ramnagar; And as you enter, you can easily spot some rare birds such as the gray headed fishing eagle, black chinsed yuhina, crested laughing thrush, slaty blue flycatcher and maroon oriole. The Mandal range of the Corbett Tiger Reserve, through the Durgadevi entrance, beckons tourists with challenging bird species. It is common to see grey-headed fishing eagle, crested laughing thrush, black-chinned euhina, maroon oriole, gray blue flycatcher, long-tailed broadbill, little forktail and bar-tailed treecreeper in this area. The Loha Chaur forest area is quite popular among tourists for spotting wild elephants and provides an excellent opportunity to spot leopards.
Liquor and non-vegetarian food is not allowed. All your personal and non-biodegradable waste such as tin cans, plastics, glass bottles, metal foil etc. should be placed in a carry bag and disposed of after you finish the tour. This is to protect the climate and animals of the national park.
Durga Devi Safari Zone is at a distance of 28 km from Ramnagar. It has well connected roadways. Tourists can book safaris to visit this zone.
The best time to visit Durga Devi Kshetra is from 15 October to 30 June.
